##article.abstract##

The analysis focuses on the evolution of international financial institutions from the Bretton Woods system
to regional development banks and post-2008 G20 reforms. Their roles in ensuring global financial stability, promoting
investment, and managing crises are highlighted. Institutional changes—including governance restructuring, quota
realignment, and enhanced oversight mechanisms—are examined alongside common criticisms related to representation
and policy influence. The continuing transformation of these institutions underscores the need for adaptive financial
governance in a shifting global economy.
