Abstract

This paper examines sustainable tourism development in Karakalpakstan, an autonomous region of Uzbekistan
with unique cultural and natural heritage. Drawing on strategic planning efforts, international capacity building initiatives,
and recent developments in eco tourism and community involvement, the study identifies key drivers and challenges
for long term sustainable tourism. Findings suggest that a combination of heritage based tourism, local economic
empowerment, infrastructure improvement, and environmental education is essential for equitable and resilient growth.
The paper concludes with recommendations for policy integration and stakeholder collaboration to promote sustainable
tourism that benefits both local communities and visitors
