Abstract

Uzbekistan’s multi-vector foreign policy, particularly the pragmatic and institutional approach that
has evolved since 2016, is examined. The study aims to explain how Uzbekistan manages parallel cooperation with
China, Russia, and Western partners while preserving its strategic autonomy. The research employs a qualitative
approach grounded in neorealism, balancing theory, and the diplomacy of small states. The findings demonstrate that
Uzbekistan’s multi-vector policy simultaneously contributes to national security, economic modernization, investment
diversification, and regional stability. The study concludes that multi-vectorism represents not merely a declarative
principle of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy but also a practical strategic instrument for national development
