The study examines the interrelationship between foreign direct investment (FDI), agricultural
transformation, and environmental policy as key drivers of sustainable economic development in developing
countries under the conditions of the global challenges of the twenty-first century. The research is based on
a synthesis of economic growth and structural transformation theories, combined with a comparative analysis
of empirical evidence from developing economies, including the experiences of China and India. The findings
demonstrate that sustainable development extends beyond GDP growth and depends on a balanced combination
of investment activity, agricultural modernization, rational use of natural capital, and institutional strengthening.
Foreign direct investment accelerates modernization only when supported by mature institutions, while
agricultural transformation remains a key instrument for inclusive poverty reduction when implemented through
environmentally sustainable practices
