Medical tourism has become one of the fastest-growing global industries, integrating healthcare and travel
services. This study provides an in-depth analysis of international standards and best practices governing medical
tourism. It evaluates healthcare quality benchmarks, patient safety regulations, ethical frameworks, and cross-border
legal mechanisms that ensure accountability and trust. Using comparative and descriptive research methods, the paper
analyzes international accreditation systems such as ISO 9001, JCI, and HIPAA, highlighting their role in ensuring
medical quality and patient protection. Furthermore, it discusses emerging challenges such as legal liability, sustainability,
and data security in cross-border care. The findings emphasize that global collaboration and harmonized regulatory
frameworks are essential for achieving ethical, safe, and sustainable medical tourism worldwide
