The digital economy has become one of the most important drivers of modern economic development,
fundamentally transforming economic processes, business models, and social relations. This article examines
the essence, characteristics, and development prospects of the digital economy, as well as the current state
of digital transformation in Uzbekistan. The study employs empirical observation, comparative analysis,
statistical data assessment, and expert evaluation methods. The findings indicate that digital technologies
play a significant role in stimulating economic growth, fostering innovation, increasing labor productivity, and
enhancing competitiveness. The article also analyzes reforms implemented in Uzbekistan to develop information
and communication technologies, improve e-government services, expand digital infrastructure, and support
the innovation ecosystem. Based on the research findings, recommendations are proposed to accelerate digital
transformation and strengthen the country’s digital development potential
