Agrotourism is emerging as a significant sector in Uzbekistan, offering unique travel experiences that combine
rural life, agriculture, and cultural heritage. This article examines the current trends in agrotourism in Uzbekistan, highlighting
government support, sustainable tourism practices, and infrastructure development. It explores the increasing
demand for agrotourism driven by the desire for authentic experiences, health and wellness tourism, educational opportunities,
and family-friendly travel. The needs and motives of agritourists, such as connecting with nature, learning about
farming practices, cultural immersion, and supporting sustainable tourism, are analyzed. Case studies from Bukhara,
Samarkand, and the Fergana Valley illustrate successful agrotourism initiatives. The article concludes by discussing the
challenges and opportunities in Uzbekistan’s agrotourism sector, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure, training,
marketing, and balancing development with conservation. With strategic planning and investment, agrotourism can significantly
contribute to the socio-economic development of rural areas in Uzbekistan while preserving its natural and
cultural heritage.
